It was a beautiful weekend! We took a break from all the hard work we've done on the vegetable garden lately and instead took the kids out to the bike trails at Fort Stevens. There's one trail in particular we love because it winds right through the beach dunes. It's also nice and flat, which we can really appreciate! When Cameron first learned how to ride his training wheel bike a couple years ago, we took him on one of the trails with a huge hill... well, we forgot his training bike didn't have breaks, and... needless to say - it wasn't good.

After spending most of the morning trying to extract poor Spike (new hamster) from behind the bathroom cupboard, it was nice to have a destination like Coffenbury lake to enjoy. Ronny's brother and some of his cousins were already out there having a BBQ, so we ran into them and spent a few minutes fishing before the long ride back to the South Jetty, where we left our car. We weren't sure Cameron would make it all the way back, but he turned on his "turbo blast", led the way, and even wore out Mommy and Daddy!

By the way, Spike made it back into his cage after 12 hours behind the cupboard.
