Spider princess

Even though it will be Darth Vader, one of his storm troopers, and Yoda that will be accompanying me trick or treating - Elie dressed up today in her spider princess costume she received for her birthday. I couldn't resist the picture!

Turning 2 is already coming with new girly traits. She LOVES her little people fairy tale castle (also a present) and is always very concerned about where Prince Charming and his horse are, wants to bake a cookie constantly in her Easy Bake (video below), and even tattled for the first time ever yesterday. You'd think with two brothers and all their boy stuff around, she wouldn't even know what to do with a Prince Charming and an oven. Although, she does recognize the Star Wars theme immediately if you hum it to her and shouts "TAR WAS" - and she picked out the Yoda costume herself. In all fairness, her brothers are constantly wanting to bake a cookie in the Easy Bake, too.

Having a girl has opened up a whole new world for us as parents to become familiar with - stereotyping aside - just as I have embraced pirates, George Lucas characters, and Lightning McQueen.... something tells me I'll know every Disney princess' name, personality, and backstory within the next year or two.
