Fancy Elie

The brothers had their first ever slumber party last night.  All week long they lorded it over Elie that it was ONLY for boys, and that SHE wouldn't be going.  So I promised her a very special night.  We turned it into a "Fancy Elie" night (instead of Fancy Nancy like one of her favorite characters).  Please indulge me, this is a photo heavy post, but I just couldn't resist...
First stop of the night was to claire's - the "girl store" for fancy accessories...
We had a hard time deciding between a hat or a tiara.  Next stop was downtown for a fancy dinner and dessert....
During dessert we made sure to practice the "pinkie" up technique...
Then of course, she needed to practice her princess wave and what better place to do that than on the merry-go-round?
We wandered around town for a bit with all the fancy girls in their prom dresses (Seaside's prom night)...
but after a while the fancy shoes were just too much...
So we headed for home to watch the movie "Enchanted" and have a slumber party in mom and dad's room.  Our lessons learned for the night.... clip on earrings and boas are just way too itchy to wear consistently, high heels are not practical, and it's good being a girl.

Oh how super, completely and totally fun! So cool she got to have her OWN fun day. Even if her tootsies got tired there at the end. ☺ Robin loves to go shopping with me, especially for clothes. For her of course. Last time we had a girls day out we went to one of those pottery painting places and she LOVED it. Wanted to live there. Steph is still a bit young for that but she does get to tag along on all the regular trips during the day. (And is finally getting to be a good girl most of the time on those trips too!)
