After exhausting our kids (and ourselves!) we headed home from Disneyland only to have our motorhome brakes start to fail in the heart of Downtown LA. We had to find a hotel that night near the Staples Center (where an LA friend of mine says, "I lived in a bad neighborhood, but NOBODY goes there) while a small fortune was being spent to redo our brakes. After being stuck like Groundhog's day back in Moss Landing for another week while Ronny worked on several boats, we finally made it home at midnight the night before the 4th. Above are some pictures of the famous Gearhart parade (in which more people are actually IN the parade than are watching). My kids, however, don't like to walk in it - they'd much rather catch the candy. I swear they get a bigger haul than Halloween at that parade!
